MAAO Sponsored IAAO Course 102 - Income Approach to Valuation (MAAO is accepting this Course in replacement of MAAO Course 3)This course is designed to provide students with an understanding and working knowledge of the procedures and techniques required to estimate the market value of vacant or improved properties by the income approach. This course covers real estate finance and investment, capitalization methods and techniques, analysis of income and expenses to estimate operating income, selection of capitalization rates, and application of the approach. Recommended prerequisites: IAAO Course 101 - Fundamentals of Real Property Appraisal.
Recommended (not required) additional textbook: IAAO Property Assessment Valuation (PAV) (3rd edition) at an additional fee beyond the SRM (Student Reference Manual) provided with your registration. This book is not required in order to take the course but is very helpful for your learning experience. This book is available for purchase through IAAO Bookstore at www.iaao.org.
Dates: August 6, 7, 13 & 14 and the final exam to be administered via Proctor Free and available to be taken August 17-20, 2020.
- For the exam: A computer web camera with microphone is required. Please review complete requirements for ProctorFree, our online proctoring service, here.
- A calculator is required.
- Current version of Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari on a computer running Windows 7, 8, or 10 or Mac OS 10.11+ (El Capitan).
- Current version of Adobe Flash.
- If accessing the course using a mobile device, it must be a large-screen device such as an iPhone 6+ or iPad.
Location: via Zoom
Time: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with 1 hour for lunch
Credit: This course is approved for 33.50 MAAO recertification credits and has been approved for 33.5 hours of DPL appraisal credits (30 credits without the exam)
The cost for the course will be: MAAO Member - $560.00 Non-Member - $635.00. ALL REGISTRATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY JULY 23, 2020.
