The Town of Shutesbury is seeking responses to an Request for Proposal for Assessing Services. The town has approximately 850 residential parcels and is in search of a consulting firm to provide in house services to the community. Services to be provided supporting the Board of Assessors’ activities, provides technical assistance and information; values all properties; plans and coordinates town-wide annual tax assessments of real and personal property; sets the tax rate; prepares reports for submission to the Dept. of Revenue. It is required that a principle on the team delegated to Shutesbury requires state certification by the Dept. of Revenue as a MASS Accredited Assessor. The town has an Assessor’s Clerk who has office 10-12 hours a week. The accredited assessor will work about 8 hours aweek, in and out of the office doing field work.
